The Community Support Concern, (CSC) was set up about two decades ago with the vision of "Communitties leading society and economically prosperous lives".Having observed the problems being faced by the common Pakistani people like poor Health and Education facilities,Gender inequality and widespread poverty, CSC decided to set up the organization aimed at resolving some of these problems.It was indeed a gigantic task, particularly in a society overwhelmed by pessimism, many remained skeptical about our chances to succeed. However the persistent hard work of our dedicated and committed team and the generous help of our donors we become able to prove our skeptics wrong.
Today CSC stands as a renowned organization with a well established network at the grass root level. In a extremely conservative society CSC has become able to improve awareness about gender issues and women’s rights through localized and creative methods. CSC also launched many successful campaigns against violence and discrimination on the basis of gender with the cooperation of the members of the religious community, elected representatives and community organizers.
We are extremely pleased with the response which we have received from the concerned communities. Moreover CSC has been able to change the attitude and mindsets of the people through its efforts and this is reflected by the case studies.
CSC has achieved remarkable success in the sector of Micro credit. We have been able to provide loans to hundreds of borrowers who, otherwise, would have no chance of getting loan from the scheduled banks. This effort of CSC has helped poor families to start businesses at small scale which consequently improved their socio economic status in the society. The high dreams of CSC in the beginning as a small organization, now seems to be developed into reality. CSC has expanded its work to Central and Southern Punjab and planning to expand it into other parts of the country. All this would not have been possible without the dedication of the staff that had shown exemplary commitment against all odds to build the organization into present stature.
With all the sincerity I express my gratitude to the members of the Board, supporters and Management team for their continuous support to help fulfill the mission of CSC.I would also pay thanks to the donors who reposed trust on CSC and have been consistently supporting CSC for its magnificent and outstanding cause regarding empowerment of women of Pakistan. We hope to continue our efforts, with the cooperation of our partners, for the prosperous society which would be free from all prejudices.
