Micro Enterprise Development Program is an important tool for alleviating poverty and being used in many countries for the last three decades. It has achieved significant success across the world.Apprehending the role played by the Micro Enterprise Development Program, the Community Support Concern has initiated the program during 2000 by replicating the Grameen Model of Grameen Trust, Bangladesh.
Goal: Social and Economic empowerment of women by providing them loans for setting their business.
Objectives: • To fight against poverty and empowering communities.
• To support and uplift Micro Income Generating activities.
• To empower marginalized sections specially women by enabling them to contribute collectively in their and economic growth.
Donors:
The program was funded by Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and Grameen Trust, Bangladesh.
Target Area:
Micro Enterprise Development Program operates through the network of four area offices and 16 field offices in two districts of Punjab i.e. Lahore and Kasur.
The Program consists upon two major Components:
1. Financial
2. Non- financial
The financial component deals with the monetary matters and awards loans to the identified and selected clients after going through the prescribed procedure while under.
Products:
There are three products of Micro Enterprise Development Program:
• Micro Credit (MC)
• Enterprise Development Fund (EDF)
• Micro Innovation & Outreach Program ( MIOP)
At present CSC is working in District Lahore and Kasur & intends to focus on Southern Punjab in the next five years. |

| 1. micro Credit (MC) |

The Community Support concern, under Micro Credit facility, provides small loans to women. It follows the procedure of group lending Monthly meetings of the group members with the Credit Officers and Branch Officers is very effective regarding developing strong linkages among them and for sharing their experiences about the enterprise.

| 2. Enterprise development facility (EDF) |
 |
Enterprise Development Fund is comparatively bigger loan and instead of groups it is given to the individuals on the basis of running business. It is funded by PPAF / USAID.

| 3. Micro innovation and outreach program (miop) |
 |
The Micro Innovation& OutreachProgram (MIOP) is also comparatively bigger loan and awarded on the assessment of running business.
At present CSC is working with the communities of 320 villages in the jurisdiction of 40 union councils of District Lahore and Kasur.These areas are rural and semi urban.
